Triple Bloom Cuff
Keep blooming…
This triple bloom cuff is all about that beautiful and unique Wampum shell! I feel so lucky to have come across it and add it to my favorite ‘stone’ list!
Traditionally, purple and white beads were made from the shells of quahog and channeled whelk. They were hand carved by the Indigenous peoples of Northeastern Woodlands and carry profound cultural significance for storytelling, diplomacy and signifying leadership. It functioned as a sacred medium to record agreements, exchange ceremonial gifts and pass down history. (Information from Wikipedia and PBS documentary).
I made this cuff as a reminder to keep blooming. which is hand stamped on the inside and to honor the very special shells. Each one has a home in fine and sterling silver, surrounded by flower details.
The sturdy split shank cuff supports the stones and is finished with a rich patina and soft polish.
It measures 6” long, with a 1 14/” opening and best suited for a medium sized wrist. The largest bloom measures 1”.
**The other Wampum pieces pictured are available in their own listings.
I hope you enjoy this ‘pretty in purple’ cuff…thanks for coming by DBG!
