Oh the magic…
This is probably one of the most magical and special malas I’ve ever held (and made, of course). The calming energy of the Lepidolite is unmatched over all gemstones….often called natures valium. It is known as the stone of serenity, bringing relaxation, stress relief and can help to dispel negative thoughts.
The wampum shell in the pendant portion comes with it own historical, spiritual and cultural significance. For thousand of years Northeastern Indigenous people have used wampum for storytelling and to record important events.
Traditionally made, this mala is hand knotted between each and every one of the 108 faceted 8mm beads. I created a tassel with the softest leather, in a rich chocolate brown and the sterling silver shell pendant adorns the front of it.
The mala measures 36” long, plus an additional 4 1/2” of tassel. The pendant is 9/16” wide, nearly 1” tall, including the bail and is finished with a rich patina and soft polish.
