Anchor…
I made this one with ‘honoring the anchor in our lives’ in mind. Often it’s our Dad, the father of our children, the husband that is the rock solid man we try not to take for granted but often do.
The stone is Opalized Wood, a absolute perfect piece of a rare and stunning occurrence where opal, over millions of years, takes over the wood in very specific geological conditions, creating a new cellular structure of ancient trees and vibrant opal all in one.
I made a home for the stone in my Live Edge design style, incorporating a 5R band of Repurposed, Reclaimed, Recycled, Redeemed and Reloved silver. Vintage silver, broken jewelry, scrap work…it’s all melted down and made into something lovable again. The result is organic, chunky, rustic and solidly built to last.
The setting measures 13/16” wide and the band, hand stamped with ‘anchor’ and a cross, measures 5/8” wide. The ring is a size 10 on the mandrel and is finished with a rich patina and soft polish.
