Keep blooming…

What a blessing it was to stumble onto Wampum and I feel like it was just so meant to be.

The shell is from the quahog clam and the channeled whelk. Traditionally and historically hand carved by the Indigenous peoples of Northeastern Woodlands, it carries profound cultural significance for storytelling, diplomacy, recording treaties and signifying leadership. It functioned as a sacred medium in many ways and was a labor intensive process to make the beads, requiring incredible skill. (Information sourced from Wikipedia and PBS documentary).

I made a home for this sweet round of Wampum in fine and sterling silver, surrounding it with hand stamped flower details. The setting measures 1” across.

The textured comfort band is a size 9, is 1/8” wide and is finished with a rich patina and soft polish.

***The matching cuff and earring pictured are available in their own listings.

Enjoy…and thanks so much for being here at DBG.
