Wearable history…
Every piece always has a story and this one is that I am not 100% sure what this stone is. I was told years ago that it was probably Dino Bone but now, years later and having worked with so many stones, I believe it is Fossilized Coral. Either way, it is old, tells it’s own story and is pretty dang cool.
I made a home for it in fine and sterling silver, adding some luck to the back (a hand stamped horseshoe) and finishing it with a rich patina and soft polish.
It adorns chocolate brown braided leather with some handmade sterling silver and turquoise tips to complete it.
The focal setting measures 13/16” wide and is 1 9/16” tall. The tips are 2 1/8” long, including the beads. The bolo measures 38” long from tip to tip.
